January – Annual Wine Tasting

Always a good opportunity to break out of the winter doldrums.  Join your friends and neighbors for this annual event at the Mid City Mall.  The festive event typically features wine, hors d’oeuvres and themed music.

March – St. Patrick’s Day Parade

This usually takes place the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day and is a great time to get outside and enjoy a fun day with your friends and neighbors.  The TPNA is always there to represent our neighborhood in a fun way!

March/April – Annual Easter Egg Hunt

All residents are welcome to attend the annual Tyler Park Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt is typically held the Saturday before Easter at 12 noon. The hunt is organized around the following age groups:

  • Toddlers (under three years)
  • Three to five year olds
  • Six to eight year olds
  • Nine to twelve year olds

Each child brings a basket or bag for collecting the eggs and lines up with the appropriate age group until the official start of the hunt is announced.

It is fun for children and adults!

May – Shakespeare in Tyler Park

Kentucky Shakespeare regularly performs one of the Bard’s plays each spring in Tyler Park.  It’s a great opportunity to join your friends and neighbors to see Kentucky’s great thespians perform the best of Shakespeare.

June – Tyler Park Garden Tour

This is a walking tour of neighborhood gardens.  You might be surprised at how beautiful and diverse many of our neighborhood back yards can be!  Perhaps you have an interesting garden yourself – be sure and let the Garden Tour Committee know about it!  We’d love for you to be a part of the fun.

July – July 4th Family Picnic

We will have games, concessions, and festivities!

September – Tyler Park Sundays in September Jazz Festival

We typically plan the Tyler Park Jazz Festival for Sundays in September.   Past performers include: Jamey Aebersold, the U of L Jazz Ensemble with Anne Drummond and Bruni Median Pegoraro.

Fall – Tree Planting Initiative

Watch the Newsletter for opportunities to plant a tree in the neighborhood.  You could choose to plant one in your own yard, or help volunteers plant some for your neighbors! Help us maintain our signature tree canopy!

October – Annual Neighborhood Association Meeting

You’ll want to plan to attend this meeting where the board for the next calendar year will be elected.  It’s always fun and informational.

December – Festival of Hope

Every year TPNA lights up the bridge along with a Winter Festival of Hope. Hope and joy are had by all. Neighbors write down their hopes and placed them in luminaries and lit the walkways. Beautiful music its played under the bridge.  Cookies and hot beverages are served. We countdown to light up both sides of the Tyler Park Bridge. The lights remained through the season.

As we are a small volunteer neighborhood association we try to do as many events as inexpensively as possible. This one (due to the costs of installing lights) is our most expensive event of the year. We ask anyone who loves these lights and can afford it to consider making a donation to support the lights! Every little bit helps!

Taste of Tyler Park

One of the advantages of living in Kentucky is our state’s passion for Bourbon. Tourists come from around the world to sample what we produce here. In that spirit, the Tyler Park Neighborhood Association presented its first “Taste of Tyler Parkon November 6, 2023 at the Monarch Music and Arts Community building, at 1318 Bardstown Road (still known as “the old Bearno’s”). Joined by five premier distillers –Makers Mark, Knob Creek Rye, Barrell Bourbon, Jefferson’s and Belief — we had a blast,

Stay tuned for news on our next Taste of Tyler Park. Cheers and make it a double!
